From 1985, the social and parliamentary debate around abortion1 has been gaining intensity. Between 1985 and 2007 six law projects to decriminalise abortion were presented, without success, although the feminist movement and allies (gynecologist, syndicates, some churches, etc.) have been very successful visibilising the criminalization of abortion as a public health and a human rights problem.

The following blog post is written by Marevic Parcon, WGNRR's Asia Programme Officer.

July 17, 2011

Yesterday was the first day of the Sexuality Institute. The Institute brings together women and men from 12 countries in Central, South, South-East Asia and the MENA Region. The event opened with fun-filled introduction activities of participants and facilitators from Women for Women's Human Rights-New Ways. Most were battling jetlag but all were still very enthusiastic in the name games.
